Shipping & Services

We handle virtually all types of freight: palletized goods, machinery, construction materials, consumer products, temperature-sensitive cargo, hazardous materials, oversized loads, and ocean containers. Our six core services are Full Truckload (FTL), Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), Drayage & Port Services, Expedited Freight, Heavy Haul, and Hazmat Shipping.
Full Truckload (FTL) means your freight gets a dedicated trailer — no sharing space with other shipments. It's ideal for large volumes (typically 10,000+ lbs or 10+ pallets) and offers the fastest transit times with no intermediate stops. Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) combines your freight with other shipments on the same trailer, so you only pay for the space you use. It's the most cost-effective option for smaller shipments (1-14 pallets, 150-15,000 lbs).
Yes. We transport hazardous materials across all 9 DOT hazmat classes, including flammable liquids, corrosives, gases, explosives, and radioactive materials. All of our hazmat carriers are fully certified with proper endorsements, and we handle all documentation including shipping papers, placarding, and emergency response information. Learn more about our hazmat services.
Drayage is the short-distance transport of shipping containers between ports, rail yards, and warehouses. It's the critical first and last mile of your ocean freight supply chain. SwiftLink handles container pickup from all major U.S. ports, chassis management, port fees, and last-mile delivery to your warehouse or distribution center. Learn more about our drayage services.
Yes. Our expedited freight service includes dedicated team drivers, straight trucks, and sprinter vans for guaranteed delivery windows. We handle hot shots, emergency restocks, and production-line-down situations around the clock. Learn more about expedited freight.
Absolutely. Our heavy haul division specializes in oversize and overweight freight using flatbeds, step decks, lowboys, and RGN trailers. We handle all permits, route surveys, pilot car coordination, and escort vehicles required by each state. Learn more about heavy haul.

Pricing & Quotes

Freight pricing depends on several factors: distance (origin and destination), shipment weight and dimensions, freight class, service type (FTL, LTL, expedited, etc.), equipment requirements, and current market conditions. Specialized services like hazmat, heavy haul, and temperature-controlled shipping may carry additional charges for compliance, permits, or specialized equipment.
For LTL shipments, the minimum is typically one pallet (approximately 150 lbs). For FTL, there's no minimum weight — you're booking a full trailer regardless of how much you put on it. For expedited freight, we can accommodate everything from a single box in a sprinter van to a full dedicated truck.
Yes. If you're shipping regularly or in high volumes, we offer contract pricing and volume-based discounts. Your dedicated account manager will work with you to develop pricing structures that align with your shipping patterns and budget. Contact us to discuss volume pricing for your business.
Spot quotes are typically valid for 24-48 hours, as carrier pricing fluctuates based on market conditions and available capacity. Contract rates are locked in for the agreed-upon period (monthly, quarterly, or annually). We recommend booking as soon as possible after receiving your quote to lock in the rate.

Tracking & Delivery

Once your shipment is booked, your dedicated logistics coordinator will provide real-time updates on your freight's location and estimated arrival time. You'll receive proactive notifications at key milestones — pickup confirmation, in-transit updates, and delivery confirmation. For immediate status, call us at (248) 987-6776 with your reference number.
SwiftLink maintains a 99.8% on-time delivery rate across all service types. We achieve this through proactive monitoring, a vetted carrier network, and a 24/7 dispatch team that identifies and resolves potential delays before they impact your supply chain.
All shipments moved through SwiftLink are covered by carrier cargo insurance. In the event of damage, document the damage at delivery, note it on the Bill of Lading, and contact your SwiftLink representative immediately. We'll initiate the claims process with the carrier and work to resolve it as quickly as possible. We recommend taking photos of any damage for documentation.
Yes.
